The Africa Edu Campaign, involvement in HIV/Aids originated in 2006 as a result of a meeting of many partner organizations held under the auspices of the Mount Zion Technology Centre and partner volunteers from different countries. The primary objective of this meeting was to change the perception that HIV/Aids was "a punishment for immoral behavior", to the recognition of the need for 3Cs:
a) Concern
b) Care
c) Cure (if possible)
As part of this Edu Campaign, the Mount Zion Technology Centre is actively concerned and geared to the establishment of orphanages, day schools, nurseries and the creation of work opportunities for women who are HIV positive. This aspect of its work has led to the recognition of the need for an intensive HIV/Aids Awareness Campaign.
